FAQ's ii:

Q5: The student is really keen to get a drum kit but I don't know what to get?
A5: So this depends on multiple factors- price, volume and the experience of the student. I advise buying an acoustic kit if possible, either through 2nd hand sites such as eBay, Preloved or Gumtree, or you can drop me a message as I have contacts that sell cheap drum kits and I would love to help point you in the right direction! These kits can cost anything from £30-£1000 depending on the quality required. Consider the drums themselves, the drum heads, the cymbals and the drum hardware when buying a kit.
If volume is an issue, maybe due to living in a terrace or semi detached house, then there are a few different options. One is an electric kit, which can cost anything from £50-£500. Another option is an acoustic kit with Remo silent stroke drum heads and Zildjiain L80 cymbals (other brands available), where the student will have the feel of an acoustic kit, with less than half the sound. I would love to help find the right kit for you so just drop me a message if any help is required!
Q6: How much do you charge for your lessons?
A6: Currently I am charging £20 an hour, or £15 for half an hour, with the first lesson free, so there is no risk at all in trying out a lesson with me. Further costs may be incurred for in-person lessons where travel on my part is involved, but this will be made clear to you when discussing lesson options.
